There was opportunity that I thought to want to tell more Japan with English blog after Australia.

It was the first opportunity that I met him in St.Kilda.

He did the reception of St.Kilda's Hostel.

He is Belgium and nickname is a pancake man (ノ∀`)

because he cooked pancakes of all people early in the morning !!

We had talk while smoking cigarettes.

He has interest about Zen, Japanese film director and movie.

He did work to make a movie in Belgium.

Just...He speaks English as if he were a native speaker. So....

Maybe..I was able to guess his English contents 30~40% at that time.

I felt sorry about that...and I thought that what can I do now for him ??

I wrote to him about Zen.

He was very happy about that .

When I saw his BIG SMILE,

I felt happiness.I realized.....

I wanted to tell Japan to more peple in English.

Thank you for giving me a wonderful opportunity.

Have you ever heard Yasujiro Ozu ??

He helped lay the foundations of the film industry in Japan, and as such he was one of Japan's most famous directors; his films are also very popular with overseas audiences.

Yasujiro Ozu is most well known for Tokyo Story, a poignant, reflective film about inter-generational tension and alienation that is widely considered a masterpiece.

In 2012 it broke Citizen Kane's five-decade run at the top of the Sight Sound director's poll of the best films ever made. His other late films-Late Spring, Early Summer and Floating Weeds-explore

similar themes to Tokyo story. the inevitable changes brought about by our progression through life. Ozu used a suite of idiosyncratic, sometimes rule-breaking cinematic techniques that reflected the everyday nature of his subjects while granting them great gravitas and transcendence.

The most famous of his techniques is the "tatami shot" : a long, static shot taken from a very long angle, casting the viewer in the role of someone kneeling on a tatami mat; he also positioned the camera directly in front of each participant in a conversation, to create a style that was at once intimate and alienated.

I watched Ozu movie

" An Autumn Afternoon".

This movie is father and daughter entertaining decidedly mixed emotions about the prospect of her getting married and leaving her father to fend for himself.

Typically Ozu and his regular co-worker deploy deliciously sly comedy!!

If you have interest it , Please watch it .

I guess, you will get feel the good old days of Japan.

(。◕‿◕。) Comedy is a great art when it works. But they are always talking about "well", sure is it meaningful??

"Well" ,sure it's meaningful if you come out and you had a great laugh.

I'm a born entertainer

I genuinely pray for his happiness in the next world.
