You might have heard "Maid Cafe " ....
How about Butler Cafe ..Have you ever heard it ??
I went to Tokyo(Ikebukuro) recently in a meeting. The Publication company's Boss told me "This Butler Cafe" fully booked for more than a month. So Megu !? have you ever been there ??
I have never been there before.
"Why popular?? " (。・ω・。)?? I didn't know at that time. After go back to home, I got very interested about that and looked into it.

Maid Cafe is a unique type of cafe, strongly related to Japanese " anime(cartoon)" culture.
In maid cafes, waitresses dressed in maid uniforms serve customers with special care, showing their loyalty and respect to the customers as if they were their "masters." Instead of saying " Welcome to our cafe," and instead of saying " Thank you for coming today," they say " please come home soon,my master."
Maid cafes are popular among guys who are having difficulty going out with women, or are suppressed by strong women . As long as they're in the cafe, they're treated as dignified master by kind maids.....Maybe there are many guys who want to be in sweet dreams, even just for a while . Other people enjoy the maid cafes simply as a kind of amusement place.

You may be now thinking it's a reflection of a male-dominated society. Well actually , there's been a new kind of cafe specially for women, which is the total opposite of the maid cafes.
And the name of this type of cafe is ...." Butler cafe!!" Inside the cafe is decorated with red carpet and gorgeous chandeliers like a mansion. Only female customers can enter to be called and treated as a " princess" by loyal butlers. When they are ready to leave the cafe, butlers say "It's time to go,princess." Doesn't it sound like a nice experience ??
What's unique about the butler cafe is that it was invented by a female office worker, who came up with the question " why are there only maid cafes for guys, and not such cafes for women??" she wrote her ideas in her blog, and soon got a lot positive feedback from female readers. After four months or preparation, the first cafe opened at the end of March 2006, and now it's fully booked for more than a month. Many Japanese guys say that they seek kindness and comfort in women, but looking at the butler cafe, maybe it's time that guys noticed that women have been seeking the same things in guys!!

It's economy..believe it or not, there're 2.85 million Otakus said to be in Japan, and the Otaku market is estimated to be 290 billion yen !!!! you wanna go to maid cafe and butler cafe ??
(。◕‿◕。) I love people who make me laugh. I honestly think it's the thing I like most, to laugh. It cures a multitude of ills. It's probably the most important thing in a person. By Audrey Hapburn(1929-1993)
